Every day, Americans buy and consume food packaged in material that contains cancer-causing nonstick “PFAS” chemicals. Found in everything from microwave popcorn bags to muffin cups to sandwich wrappers, these nonstick chemicals don’t stay in the packaging, but get into our food. We’re exposed with every bite.
That’s why we’re asking the legislature to pass the Healthy Food Packaging Act – a bill to ban the use of these nonstick chemicals in food packaging. This year’s session is just a short 60 days, so there is no time to lose!
These nonstick chemicals have been associated with cancer, hormone disruption, and immune system problems. They contaminate people and the environment. We need to get them out of our food packaging!
Tell your legislators to stand up to the chemicals companies and put our families’ health first! Help make Washington state a healthier place for all by getting harmful nonstick chemicals out of our food.
