Our latest Retailer Report Card scores retailer actions on toxic chemicals. Companies are changing policies and taking more action to keep toxic chemicals off store shelves! They’re stepping up to ban chemicals such as PFAS linked to cancer and infertility from food packaging. They’re getting endocrine disruptors such as phthalates out of beauty and personal care products. They’re saying no to bisphenols in receipts. And so much more!

But 17 of the 50 companies graded this year still earned a failing grade. Ahold Delhaize, Alimentation Couche-Tard, Chipotle, Five Below, Inspire Brands, LL Flooring, Macy’s, McDonald’s, Nordstrom, Publix, Sally Beauty, Sherwin Williams, Sobeys, Subway, Trader Joe’s, Yum! Brands, and 7-Eleven all failed to take substantial public steps to protect customers from toxic chemicals and plastics in products and packaging.
