Statement from Liz Hitchcock, Director, Safer Chemicals Healthy Families:

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Yesterday the U.S. Senate confirmed Alexandra Dunn’s nomination to be Assistant Administrator for the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention (OCSPP) at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In response, Liz Hitchcock, Director of Safer Chemicals Healthy Families issued the following statement:

“The EPA Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention has the important job of protecting Americans from toxic chemicals, and it needs strong direction to carry out that mission. Ms. Dunn has a big job ahead of her: she will be responsible for ensuring that the Toxic Substances Control Act is implemented as Congress intended, and for restoring the focus on public health and environmental protection that the current program leadership has ignored.”
