Tell Sally Beauty to remove chemicals linked to cancer from hair products
No one should face health risks because of the hair care products they use.
Take action: Tell Sally Beauty CEO Denise Paulonis to protect its customers and eliminate cancer-linked chemicals from its shelves.
Our recent review of 577 hair products marketed for textured hair and sold by Sally Beauty found that more than one in six (17%) contained chemicals that release formaldehyde and/or contained the siloxanes D4, D5, or D6.
Despite growing concerns about toxic chemicals in personal care and cosmetic products, Sally Beauty earned failing grades on our Retailer Report Card from 2017 through 2024 for failure to have a chemical policy that protects health.
With more than 3,700 stores worldwide and billions in annual revenue, Sally Beauty has the power—and the responsibility—to eliminate these chemicals from all stores and online platforms, not just where the law requires it.
Washington state will restrict formaldehyde releasers in cosmetics beginning in 2027, and the European Union is restricting the siloxanes D4, D5, and D6.
Sally Beauty should remove these chemicals from all of its stores, not just where required by law!
