Endocrine-disrupting chemicals are linked to serious health harms, including reproductive and developmental harm, infertility, metabolic disease, and increased risk of some cancers, and this 2026 study with research done by Toxic-Free Future, in collaboration with Seattle Children's Research Institute and others reveals that several of these chemicals are getting into breast milk.
On January 1, 2026, a new rule took effect in Washington state banning all bisphenols in receipt paper, prioritizing the health of people and safer solutions. This makes Washington the first state in the nation to take this action.
