We should all have access to safe drinking water, which is key to our health. EPA has proposed delaying enforcement of drinking water standards for two types of PFAS and rolling back the standards for four others, including GenX. This proposal prioritizes chemical corporations’ profits at the expense of our health.

Tell EPA: Don’t roll back safeguards from forever chemicals in drinking water!

Petition text

Administrator Zeldin,

Communities across the U.S. have been paying to clean up PFAS contamination through their taxpayer dollars and at the cost of their health. Clean, safe water is a right all Americans should have.

PFAS contamination at the tap is a critical problem and one that the EPA should remedy today.

EPA’s proposal to delay enforcement of PFOA and PFOS standards, and to roll back regulation on GenX, PFBS, PFHxS, and PFNA should be abandoned. It would prolong exposure and leave communities in danger from this contamination. EPA must put our health first.

Safe drinking water should not depend on where you live or whether states can afford to clean up contamination after the fact. The science is clear that PFAS threaten human health, and delaying protections will only increase costs for states and prolong exposure to toxic chemicals that should never have been allowed to contaminate our drinking water in the first place.
